A CHRISTMAS CAROL
A Christmas Carol is a play about a mean-spirited and selfish old man, Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates Christmas. One cold Christmas Eve, Scrooge is unkind to the people who work for him, then refuses to give to charity, and then is rude to his nephew, Fred, when Fred invited him to spend Christmas with him. When Scrooge gets home, he is visited by the ghost of his old business partner Jacob Marley – and then by three ghosts! They are the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. The Ghost of Christmas Past takes Scrooge on a journey through Christmases from his past, taking Scrooge to see himself as an unhappy child and a young man more in love with money than his fiancé. The Ghost of Christmas Present shows Scrooge his clerk, Bob Cratchit’s family. At Bob Cratchit’s house Scrooge sees Tiny Tim, who is very ill, but full of spirit. The ghost then takes him to see his nephew Fred’s Christmas celebrations - which he had been invited to, but rebuffed. Finally, The Ghost of Christmas Future terrifies Scrooge by showing him visions of his own death. The ghosts’ journey through time teaches Scrooge the error of his ways. When he wakes up on Christmas Day he is full of excitement, and buys the biggest turkey in the shop for the Cratchit family before spending the day with his nephew, full of the joys of Christmas.

UIL ONE-ACT PLAY
Playbill: https://www.playbillder.com/show/vip/Magnolia_West_Mustang_Theatre/2021/A_View_From_the_Bridge_90640
A View from the Bridge by Arthur Miller is a two-act play set by the docks of Red Hook, a working-class part of Brooklyn, New York - this play's time period is around the 1950s. It is narrated by a lawyer, Alfieri, and revolves around the Carbone family – Eddie, his wife Beatrice and their niece Catherine. The family are first seen awaiting the arrival from Sicily of Beatrice’s cousins Marco and Rodolpho. (Sicily is the island which looks like the football on the end of Italy’s 'boot'). The cousins arrive late one night, and the Carbone family welcome them. Catherine and Rodolpho are attracted to each other, which annoys Eddie a lot. He finds more and more things to dislike about Rodolpho as the young couple grow closer over the following weeks.
DRAMAPALOOZA
Dramapalooza is an event that Magnolia West Theatre Company puts on every year! Dramapalooza is a showcase of SENIOR directed(that's right, fully student directed!) plays.
This year we have SIX different directors and four different plays:
1. Trent Lamm is directing the comedic play "Cut!" by Ed Monk. "Cut!" is a play about a group of actors who are rehearsing a play within a play within a play. As the plot complications multiply, the actors begin to forget who is playing whom and who is the real director -- as opposed to the actor who is playing the director, or vice versa.
2. Sammy Arungwa and Blake Childress are directing the horror-drama play "Tell Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe, together. "Tell Tale Heart" tells the famous Edgar Allan Poe story of the deranged boarder who had to kill his landlord, not for greed, but because he possessed an "evil eye."
3. Brooke Bailey is directing the comedic play "Check Please" by Jonathan Rand. "Check Please" showcases a series of first dates gone wrong.
4. Concluding the showcase, Lane Armentrout and Richard Mooney are directing the comedic play "Clue" by Jonathan Lynn. "Clue" is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu.
